Wee penguin

Christel Krukkert's book also has a lovely penguin pattern and I decided the polar bear needed a friend, so here they are.

Polar bear

I bought Christel Krukkerts pattern books in the discount bookshop and just love the patterns, wish I had more time so I would be able to finish them faster. Anyhow, here is the polar bear I recently finished.

Penguin amigurumi

My friend asked me if I could make something based on his drawings... There is a challenge I can't ignore, so I went ahead, and this is the result.
Not quite satisfied with the result, so I'll give it another try and write out a pattern.

Koala

One of the things on my mental to do list was a koala. I usually combine crochet and watching television and following a pattern and marking my rows and stiches interfere with the programs and as I was watching something that mustn't be interfered, I decided not to work with a pattern and just go with the flow and this is how it turned out. Will make one more and write down the pattern.

Fun thing about the owls is that they are quick and easy to make and that they make nice keychains.

Amigurumi

Amigurumi is extremely relaxing and fun to do as you can see your progress and what was once a skein of yarn becomes an animal or a puppet or whatever you are making. You can put your soul into it.

The first try is a struggle; getting the grip on a magic circle, crocheting in that circle and increasing and decreasing as you progress. Counting each and every stich, being frustrated if you miscounted and have to start anew. However, after a while, you actually SEE the pattern and the creation and you just go ahead as you please and see where your needle and yarn are taking you.

So, if you ever thought that you couldn't do it, that you're not creative or handy enough, skip that thought! Go and find yourself an easy pattern and give it a shot, let the first frustrations run wild, but don't give up; YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Amigurumi owl

First try for an owl... Will make loads more and experiment with sizes etc. This one I whipped up in an hour or three, spent most time looking for fitting eyes

Monkey ballerina

Finally she's finished, the skirt was a handful though, but nonetheless I am actually pleased with how she turned out...

Raoul's soother cuddle

Raoul kept on stealing Laura's soothers, I guessed it was because hers have a cuddle on them, so I decided to make him one for himself. A granny square, the first I ever made as a matter of fact and a panda head attached to it. I needed it quickly and didn't feel like looking for a pattern, so tried something out of the blue. Not really what I had in mind, but the wee monkey is happy with it. And that's what matters, toddlers aren't always as easy to please as one would wish...

Soufyan's pencilcase and good luck puppy

Soufyan is going on his first camp; 10 days of French course. Exciting, terrifying and all other contraries at the same time. Anyhow, he needed a pencilcase and I needed him to have a souvenir. So I made him a personal pencilcase, used a cheap ass plain one and spray painted it, Soufyan liked the idea, so he did so too for a second go, I attached his name with felt letters and textile glue (underestimated that part since the glue went all over the place, will need some practice in that).
The souvenir is an amigurumi love dog, I used cupboard fragrance for the stuffing. Since scent is a wonderful thing and it gives him an excuse on why he has a cuddle on him; I told him to say to any possible roomie that he was worried that the sheets would smell and that that's the reason why he has it ;)
