Japanese girl

I really wanted to make a card, but it's all not going as good as I would like it to. Anyhow, this is what I made today, not pleased with it though...

X for X-mas part two

The result of today's creations... Still not truly satisfied though... However I did enjoy it a lot

X for X-mas

Christmas is just around the corner, the fact that the night is falling sooner every day now proves it. I know there are still many other festivities coming up, but at the end of the day Christmas is the most special one of all. Last year it was an undecorative one, because I had mayor gallbladder issues that were undetected at that point, but caused me a lot of pain and sorrow. One Friday night, November 30th to be exact I wanted to start on it and finish it off on Saturday morning, but I went in labour and gave birth to Laura. Two weeks later I planned the exact same thing, but little Laura got ill and ended up in hospital.

Supersticious as I am, I figured I cursed Christmas and the other way around and decided to leave the decorating part for what it was. Christmas eve I regretted that bit so much that I have to make up for a lost one this year. First up; some cards... I've been working on some last night, but am not one bit impressed nor satisfied... Will need some more craft stuff to get it right. Nonetheless, here are yesterday nights cards...

And another card

Soufyan wanted to ask my aunt and uncle to be his godparents since he's had some bad luck on that area. Therefore I made him a card.
I used Marianne Design owl stamps, blossom bloom paper pad, Derwent pencils, discount ribbon and my butterfly punch. Was on a time challenge and this is how it turned out...

Birthday and other occasion cards

The one with the owl is for mu mum, for mothers' day, the other two are plain old birthday cards...

I used Marianne Design stamps for the first card with the gift and the owl. Boofle stamp for the one with the bear. Boofle paper and paper scraps did the tric as well. And of course my trustworthy Derwent pencils... Any crafter's best friend I think.

Thank you teacher part 2

Here are two other cards I made to thank the teachers, I used Marianne Design "Eline's owls" clear stamps, my partner in crime Derwent pencils and Marianne Design paper block for these and of course my discount shop ribbon.

Thank you teacher part one

Tomorrow is the last day that one of Soufyan's teachers will be at school, sad, because she's the best teacher he ever had. She believed in him, saw potential no one ever saw and gave him loads of confidence and taught him more than any ten year old usually learns. So, the first thank you teacher card has been made as well as the first gift.

I went through an entire butterfly theme, just because I felt like it and because she kind of made him grow from a caterpillar to a butterfly.

For the card I used a standard blue one, some perkament paper, lili of the valley stamps and of course my derwent pencils got to prove their purpose again. The lace is from a discount shop (oh, how I love those...) and the lavender is from the garden. I also used paper from the Boofle stack and Marianne Design lovely butterflies for the inlay. Some ribbon from a discount shop (I just love discount shops to get craft material) and lavender from the garden.

I used a pop up punch from Pipoos to create the butterfly on the enveloppe and I stacked a bunch of butterflies inside the card, so that they'll "fly away" when she opens the card (like her students will do). For those I used a regular butterfly shaped punch and my left over paper, rescued from recycling.ยต

Then, for the frame, I used a ready cut mdf one, you find them in craft stores all over for discount prices. I painted it gold and attached some butterflies, plain simple. I used my Boofle stack for a paper and cut out the wee design, stating "Make a wish... I hope it comes true", the thank you note I wrote myself. It says as much as thank you teacher, for the confidence you gave me, for understanding, for the new insights, for an amazing year"

The small package is a home made soap, wrapped in the same Marianne Design paper from the pretty butterflies-stack and the discount ribbon and forget me not flowers from the garden.

Birth announcement

For Laura's birth announcement, I wanted to make the card myself. I used a Lili of the valley stamp for it and derwent colour pencils.

Card for birth

Rather simple, but I am truly happy with the result. It was actually a school assignment for Soufyan, but might as well use it as well.

I used a Marianne Design stamp for this one

Fathersday

Every special occasion asks for a greeting card, that's the main thought behind the entire Hallmark (R) concept. Might as well make my own, it's just that bit more personal.
Today it's Fathersday in Belgium, so, some cards.

I made them with Lili of the Valley stamps and derwent pencils. Also used
Marianne Design paper and perkament paper and.stencils. However, the perkament paper and stencils I got from a discount shop. The flowes came from the backyard and the heart is a button.
