Thank you teacher part 2

Here are two other cards I made to thank the teachers, I used Marianne Design "Eline's owls" clear stamps, my partner in crime Derwent pencils and Marianne Design paper block for these and of course my discount shop ribbon.

Polar bear in fimo

Yup, still on the Fimo-road... This time a polar bear, for Ilyas' teacher, who has a thing with polar bears and owls... Idea is to attach it to a frame later on, I probably won't do it, but still... So, here it is...

Thank you teacher part one

Tomorrow is the last day that one of Soufyan's teachers will be at school, sad, because she's the best teacher he ever had. She believed in him, saw potential no one ever saw and gave him loads of confidence and taught him more than any ten year old usually learns. So, the first thank you teacher card has been made as well as the first gift.

I went through an entire butterfly theme, just because I felt like it and because she kind of made him grow from a caterpillar to a butterfly.

For the card I used a standard blue one, some perkament paper, lili of the valley stamps and of course my derwent pencils got to prove their purpose again. The lace is from a discount shop (oh, how I love those...) and the lavender is from the garden. I also used paper from the Boofle stack and Marianne Design lovely butterflies for the inlay. Some ribbon from a discount shop (I just love discount shops to get craft material) and lavender from the garden.

I used a pop up punch from Pipoos to create the butterfly on the enveloppe and I stacked a bunch of butterflies inside the card, so that they'll "fly away" when she opens the card (like her students will do). For those I used a regular butterfly shaped punch and my left over paper, rescued from recycling.ยต

Then, for the frame, I used a ready cut mdf one, you find them in craft stores all over for discount prices. I painted it gold and attached some butterflies, plain simple. I used my Boofle stack for a paper and cut out the wee design, stating "Make a wish... I hope it comes true", the thank you note I wrote myself. It says as much as thank you teacher, for the confidence you gave me, for understanding, for the new insights, for an amazing year"

The small package is a home made soap, wrapped in the same Marianne Design paper from the pretty butterflies-stack and the discount ribbon and forget me not flowers from the garden.

Okapi part two

Tomorrow is Yaesseens big day at school for his show and tell, he was worried to lose points for the creativity part of it, so I created a scale model of the okapi in his environment. A cardboard box, some branches from the garden, a bit of moss and grass, foam and a toy and bababim badaboom, he's got himself a scale...

Monkey business

So, the fimo was out on the table any way and seeing I have monkey issues lately, got a monkey clock as well..., I hád to make one in Fimo too

Fimo giraffe

As I discovered the joy and relaxation working with fimo gives me, and on request of an old friend, I made a giraffe.

I am glad that I started using it, it has tons of possibilities, and is extremely user friendly. So, my advise to you; go out and buy some and rediscover your inner child and let it fiddle and create and have fun!

Soap

I love making soap, it's easy, fun and it creates a nice gift. It's versatility makes it adjustable to anyone and to any occasion.

I just love homemade gifts. It always beats any bought gift, just through the personality it has. Getting one of those gifts, no matter what it is, means that someone took the effort of thinking about you and wondering what to make for you and actually going through the trouble of making it.

Laura's sunny hat

I figured since the sun came out, Laura deserved a sunny hat. Since she is too young to chose what to wear, I get a blank canvas with her, which makes me extremely happy ^^

Whilst watching tele, I whipped this one up, without any pattern it took me one skein and approximately three hours. Getting the flower button on the right hight took me quite some time though ;p

I'll count the rounds and write out the pattern and give it a retry before posting it.

Birth announcement

For Laura's birth announcement, I wanted to make the card myself. I used a Lili of the valley stamp for it and derwent colour pencils.

Card for birth

Rather simple, but I am truly happy with the result. It was actually a school assignment for Soufyan, but might as well use it as well.

I used a Marianne Design stamp for this one

Laura's vest

On the first day of revalidation after my galbladder and liver surgeory, I made this wee vest for my baby girl.

I adapted the pattern from the link below for it.

Yaesseens okapi

Another show and tell at school. This time around it is Yaesseens turn and he will be talking about the okapi. He couldn't wait for the goodluck charm I'd make him, so it became this little one. I made it in Fimo. Own design since I couldn't find any designs fast enough and couldn't be bothered looking further. I'll make another one and take pics along the way. Just in case there are mothers like me out there...

Monkey see, monkey do

The first two try outs of monkeys. Planning loads more. Number three is in the making.

Jupiter

Soufyan, my eldest son, had a show and tell about a planet. He chose Jupiter. We made a scale model of the solar system and one of Jupiter with his two rings and four biggest moons. The scale is not what it should be, however it appeared to be perfect for a ten year old. Wr enjoyed making it so much, we will make a correct scaled one for in the bedroom this summer.

Fathersday

Every special occasion asks for a greeting card, that's the main thought behind the entire Hallmark (R) concept. Might as well make my own, it's just that bit more personal.
Today it's Fathersday in Belgium, so, some cards.

I made them with Lili of the Valley stamps and derwent pencils. Also used
Marianne Design paper and perkament paper and.stencils. However, the perkament paper and stencils I got from a discount shop. The flowes came from the backyard and the heart is a button.
